PoS Bridge

Note: This page is still under development and will finished after the launch of the PoS bridge. Please expect some modifications of info during that period.

Overview

As a sidechain to the Ethereum L1, Hepton PoS will be connected as an execution layer for Ethereum L1 through a two-way pegged bridge model. Hepton Labs sets its priority to build a PoS Bridge instead of providing Plasma scaling solutions between the sidechain and the Ethereum L1 due to the following reasons; PoS Bridge is faster than Plasma in terms of token withdrawals, it doesn't require 7 days of the withdrawal to be executed. PoS Bridge is far more flexible rather than the Plasma Scaling Solution and it is secured by the external sets of Validator through the Proof-Of-Stake mechanism which was implemented inside the Hepton PoS.

Peggy-Model Transfer

The Hepton PoS bridge provides a scaling solution that is near-instant, low-cost, and quite flexible. Hepton uses a dual-consensus architecture to optimize for speed and decentralization and an architectural design that supports arbitrary state transitions on sidechains, which are EVM-compatible. During the process of applying a token bridge between Hepton PoS and Ethereum L1, there is no change to the circulating supply of a holder token when it crosses the bridge.

1/ Tokens that leave the Ethereum network are locked, and the same number of tokens are minted on Hepton PoS as a pegged token (1:1).

2/ To move the tokens back to Ethereum, tokens are burned on the Hepton PoS network and unlocked on the Ethereum network during the process
